It's All in His Control

These last few weeks have been something of a whirlwind...once we decided to bring this little girl home, it seemed like everything took off.

Well, we just finished up with "our" first big fundraiser - and praise the Lord it raised just over $3,000! Wow! We are humbled and so grateful for each of you that donated, shared our auction page, bid and prayed! Each of those things played a vital part of the success of that fundraiser! We can't thank you enough!

We were also blessed by a lady that we've never met - I've only "met" her via Facebook - who agreed to do a Scentsy fundraiser for us (she's a consultant and gave all of her commission from the online party we had to us!). We were again blessed by lots of you who ordered something from our party and we raised around $120 and this lady was kind enough to round up our total to $150!!!

With that, our grand total is about $6,500 (and this has just been in 2 weeks time!)! So, what now? We need to have another fundraiser, quickly! My husband is an amazing, talented carpenter and has agreed to build a toy box to auction off (if there's enough interest). So, I'm going to be posting pictures of what it would look like (solid wood, that can either be stained or painted with a lid that won't pinch fingers) and asking for your input! We would probably set it up like this: $10 gives you 1 entry for an opportunity to win, $20 for 2 (maybe 3), $30 for 3 (maybe 4), $40 for 4 (maybe 5) and $50 for 5 (maybe 6). We would need the winner to live fairly close as shipping the toy box would be next to impossible (and pretty expensive as these are fairly heavy).

We will also be having a Thirty-One fundraiser at the beginning of next month, so be thinking of what bag you are going to order! :)

We may also have an opportunity to speak to another church and do another presentation on adoption and the Congo. :) The one we did a couple of weeks ago went pretty well (neither one of us have spoken in front of people in forever!). :) And they took up a generous love offering for us.

We also have 3 or 4 grants we can apply for as well. All that to say, we know God's got this (and I know that's not proper English). ;)

We're just a month into fundraising and are about 1/3 of the way there PTL! Please continue to pray for the process and for these other dear families we've met in the process as well!

Thank you all!
