Gotcha Day!

I realized I didn't ever post anything about the Gotcha Day party we had for our little miss. Bad mom!

Well, her official "Gotcha Day" (at least the day we are using) is August 8. If you're new to the adoption world, this is the day that parents choose to celebrate the day this child came into their lives. Some choose to use the first time they held their child, others, like us, choose to use the day they landed back in their home country or state.

So we had a BIG party to celebrate Maleeya Grace joining our family. We invited lots of friends and family out to help us. I decided to have a "Panda/Asian" theme this year and I think it turned out pretty cute. :) (Connie Smith in Lamar made the cake/cookies - which were delicious and looked soooo good!) I also found a lady on etsy.com who makes banners (she uses material w/a stiff backing, so it's nice and will last) and had her make one that says, "Happy Gotcha Day". Super cute! We hung up some Chinese lanterns as well.

I think Maleeya enjoyed it and I know we had fun watching her interact with everyone. We can't thank everyone enough for all of their love and prayers and help not only in bringing her home, but over the last year as we became parents to this little miracle!

We are so blessed! Seriously! And forever thankful for Ted & Bev Skiles and all the wonderful, amazing workers at The Home of God's Love!
